Coach Barner's journey from the trenches of high school football to the collegiate level ignited a deep passion for offensive line play. Having experienced firsthand the dedication, technique, and teamwork required to excel in the trenches, he is committed to passing on his knowledge to the next generation.

A Houston native, Coach Barner played at the historic H.I.S.D. program Lamar High School, where he helped lead the 2013 team to a state championship appearance. By the end of his high school career, he was a two-time first-team all-district selection and a two-time all-state selection.

Coach Barner then signed with Houston Baptist University, where he started for four years. During his time at Houston Baptist, he was part of the very first Division 1AA FCS season in school history, seeing action in eight games as a true freshman. By the end of his college career, he played over 3,000 snaps, allowing only 3.5 sacks during the four-year period.

His versatility as an offensive lineman was unmatched, making him one of the most accomplished in school history. He is the only player in Houston Baptist history to have starting snaps in all five offensive line positions. This level of experience and adaptability makes Coach Barner uniquely qualified to lead and develop the next generation of offensive linemen.
